It will grow back I think, its an organ that can heal / repair itself, much like the liver - although I could be completely wrong!!!

Nope, its true. My mate had her tongue pierced and it was a total mess. She took the piercing out and within 24hrs it had healed considerably. Its the enzymes in your mouth or something that help it heal quickly.

Surely if you cut your tongue off it just heals over, not grows back?

Cracking party trick if it grows back!

Are there not some people who have purposely had their tongue split so it looks a bit like a snakes tongue?

Sure I saw this somewhere

Each to their own and all that, but I'm fecked if I'd consider it

it won't grow back - a friend of my fathers did this years ago. He still has a speeth ploblem - They did offer to cut a bit of muscle from his thigh and sew it onto his tongue be he declined as he thought it would be too freaky

What do you mean by "Walkabout"? Just really drunk? How did he manage that?

How much of it has been cut off. Sounds blinking awful, I bit my tongue in my sleep once and it bled like mad for ages and hurt like hell.

Can he still talk?

The tongue is a muscle so it won't grow back, just heal over.
Did you know the tongue is the only muscle in your body thats attached only at one end!? - Source: Back of a Skips crisp packet!

was it "Walkabout" in Carlisle ??

Small bits of tongue are not re-planted, larger sections (very big bits) may be re-planted but finding and joining blood vessels difficult. Tongue (like scalp) has a blood supply from both sides so expect profuse bleeding but quick healing times.

Midlife..
