Getting felt tip pen off childs hands? Urgent! ;-)
Agggghhhh littlun has managed to colour his hands pink with a felt tip pen
What's the best way to get it off? It has only faded slightly with copious washing with soap
(I need these hands clean before his mother get home
)
thanks
Mick

I'm sure you are trying to be helpful.
Good thinking on the 'my friend' type thread!
Should have used that I guess...
'My friend wasn't watching his child as attentively as he should have been. The child is now covered from head to toe in pink felt tip. His wife will kill him if she finds out. Please help get this child clean and save a mans life! '
Is that more like it?

Swarfega - preferably the one for removing paint.
Washing up liquid - better than soap (I use fairy to clean my brushes when I run out of brush cleaner
)
otherwise.
White spirits
Turpentine
Meths
But use very little rub it in and wash off immmediately with washing up liquid and water to avoid irritation.

be careful with meths, after coating my hands with contact adhesive and it drying into a rubber coating, i scrubbed my hands with meths, pouring it all over and scrubbing with a green scourer. My hands were numb and stung for a good 6 hours after i twated my brother for suggesting the meths in the first place.

Failing that, Fairy plus salt - it's more abrasive than sugar, but not abrasive enough to flail the skin from his hands.
On the other hand, just let your wife see. Children will be inquisitive and it's not harmful or illegal, so I wouldn't worry.

I'll just have to confess... err he did at 'mums & tots'... err the childminders..., I ran out of gas... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts!I wasn't my fault!!!

Wish me luck

Washing powder Mick; old stylee, that will move anything and its safe. The idea of washing small child's hands with petrochemicals is ridiculous. Pumis stone will do it too but you need to be careful.

I agree with nail varnish remover
will even remove permanent marker ... although not sure how old child is? failing that salt and washing up liquid as already said works ... or at least does on my little boy!
What did the wife say? did she find out and was she mad?

Blow Torch ?
Mine occasionally still do it, dont worry about it, we were getting ready for a flight to Ireland for a wedding and all three came out looking sheepish covered in black felt claiming to be 'Lions', they were a right mess, if you scrub hard enough they get the idea.
At least we have grown out of the Harry Potter lightning style scars done with a biro.
