Talking What shoes to get for clubbing?

Going clubbing for first time soon and I know that they are quite strict on footware, what type of shoes should I be looking for, can anybody recommend any decent shoes?

Wish I could wear one of my many pairs of Puma trainers to the clubs I go to! Shoes only

How much you got to spend?

Ages ago I bought some loafer style jobbies from Russell and Bromley (I think) they were just over £100 and the leather sole is perfect for when I have to break out into the running man or moonwalk....They even look pretty respectable considring how much p1ss, lager, kebab and nightclub filth they've had to endure...

In town they don't even look at your shoes. Get some nice Timberland boots, 120 quid.

Is it just me or does anyone else think clubbing is over rated?

hmmm anyway...

Edit - If I had a scooby, 40 would be better spent on a tank of optimax and a good blast up the clear roads on a saturday night, money well spent

LOL

I'd go with the Prada shoe/trainer.

Got a pair last week and they're great looking and lovely to wear.

£190 a go's a bit steep but worth it. Got mine for £50 from a contact so well 'appy

If your new to the 'clubbing' game, dont worry about the shoes, so long as they ARE shoes and they get you in.

Once in the club no one will be looking at your shoes.

All night you will be pi55ing on them, along with a few strangers doing the same.

Every ****** will stand on them...

Later on you will be spewing on them in the bogs.

Then you will be dragged out, face down by the door staff, totally ******* up your new shoes.

Also when your arrested in the local Kebbab house, the friendly plod will rob your laces.

Forgot to say, the most important bit.

Always buy soft soled shoes, there is nothing worse than throwing your best right hook, and slipping over on your ****. They also help if you need to make a 'taktical' retreat.

So take my advice.........keep it cheap. (what were those shoes called that your English teacher would wear? They looked like Cornish pasties. Was it POLYVELTS...?)

Enjoy.

Edited to add an important bit.

Most decent clubs don't have a dress code, ones that do tend to be frequented by shoe/shirt/gold chain wearing chavsters who all dress "smart" for their night of boozing, brawling and barfing.

The good places only let you in if you are cool, if you need to ask then you aren't, simple as.

As much as this will wind up a lot of people it's totally true. If you are going to a club that will only let you wear shoes then you're going to the wrong clubs. The local Ritzy by any chance?!

must admit the post about the 'chavsters night out' is very true.

anywhere full of people in shirts, trousers, gold chains and black shoes (not forgetting stripey fred perry/lacoste jumpers) is a guaranteed brawl every five minutes and you would be advised to go somewhere else unless you really dont like your front teeth.

I have a pair of the onitsuka trainers, they dont have very good traction in the rain or snow, this i can confirm and so can the hole in a pair of jeans, apart from that they are like wearing slippers.

I have to agree with those that have said don't wear expensive shoes that you care about when going to the local dive. It's true that people won't notice them, and even if they could see them they probably wouldn't know what they were looking at.

I was out last week and we'd gone to a nice local bar. I'd decided to wear my fairly new Oliver Sweeney's. Someone then suggested we go on afterwards to the local dump of a nightclub, and as there was a girl going that I had my eye on I agreed. I spent most of the night looking down at my shoes protecting them from the local rapscallions. I was fortunate enough to meet a nice girl in there though so spent most of the night on a sofa chatting (!) with her.

If I know we're going to some seedy dive I actually dress down as your clothes are going to get wrecked by smoke, booze, p#ss and whatever else there is flying about!

Save the good stuff for the dates you get from these 'outings', or try to go to nice places in the first place!
