moses is entitled to his opinion whether he be a troll or no.
moses my friend yes i agree that he might be regarded in some other countries as a hero and freedom fighter, but you know as well as i do that one country's freedom fighter is another country's terrorist/anarchist. so has it ever been in northern ireland, the home of the polarised community. i think you will find alot of republican/nationalist MLAs are infact acutely embaressed about that time in our history.

Whatever you think of his politics surely it's possible to admire someone who has the strength of will that Bobby Sands clearly possessed? I know I do.

he had a choice ya know
Moses,
yes i could be classed as one of the prods and see all you taigs (though teague is the proper spelling, but when in belfast etc etc.) and camel jockeys as the terrorists and murderers that you all are.........but i was never brought up like and while i have lived in a prod enclave and worked in a very republican area (andytown) i can honestly say that one is as bad as the other. if you where to ask a catholic about partition and thier armed struggle very few of them could tell you what it was about. likewise if you ask the so called staunch loyalist that walk on the 12th what it was all about, they couldn't tell you the first thing about King William of Orange or even tell you where the Boyne is FFS.
the hunger strikers only served to drive a wedge between the prods and taigs in an already volatile environment and as for bobby sands having the will and determination to do what he did, imagine telling bobby that he would have to die for the cause, because he certainly DID NOT make that decision for himself. Power and influence is what it was about. did the hunger strikers make the government of the day back down to demands for segregation...... i think not.
cheers
