Default What does one buy their Dad for his 60th Birthday

Any ideas on the above? He's not into cars. He likes classical music, reading and holidays.
I just don't know what to buy him.

How bout tickets for a classical concert or some kind of show he would enjoy?
Maybe you could find one of those weekend deals with a night in a hotel and concert ticket things?

Have a look at lastminute.com might be a few ideas there, they do gifts as well as other stuff.

Nothing worse than trying to buy something for someone who has pretty most everything they need.

Good luck with it!

Had the same problem last year. My old man is into similar things as yours and is also the type who has everything he wants which makes it a mightmare because if he doesn't have something its usually because he doesn't want it!

Me and my brothers/sister clubbed together and bought him a DVD player last year for his 60th and a few classical concert DVD's which he really liked!

We can't take full credit though, it was Mum's idea!

Yeah good idea AJM we bought Dave's Grandad a DVD player for christmas and a few DVD's he was over the moon with it!
I was thinking about getting him one of those freeview boxes for his birthday.
Has your Dad got digital tv Scoobidude?? You can get freeview boxes for under £60 now. Just another idea.

Question Magazine subscription?

Oh just had another thought ...... blimey the ideas are flowing from me this morning....pretty good considering I've been up all night lol

I bought my Mum a magazine subscription for christmas. Maybe you could find a magazine your Dad might be interested in

Some examples of what WH Smith have got ......
Classic FM Magazine £39.99
BBC History Magazine £32.99
Digital Photo £47.80

Gift Subscriptions

There might be some cheaper places on-line worth doing a search maybe?
Hope this is helping you!!

Mum and Dad bought a new widescreen TV last week. I'm sure they got freeview with it too. The concert tickets are a great idea. I just need to find out what's on and now and whether he'll like it!
Thanks a bunch everyone

ROTF at 'Old Folk' My old man is 60. Certainly not old. Enjoys whooping youngsters in their 'hot hatches' as well.

My great gran went up in a hot air balloon for her 85th and enjoyed it. It was launched near the area she grew up in, so was an interesting view.

We got our dad a kiss-a-gram but i think there a BIT out dated now and not worth the money.

If he likes going a way buy him and your mum a nice 2 night a way in a nice big hotel driven there by a special car (Limo) e,g.

Very astute of you to notice that I said so Paul. I know some 60+ drivers who could leave most people for dead on a track!
