Question

Who do you guys use?

I currently use Virgin Money's sharedealing service but it's too inflexible transferring funds. Not talking large amounts just a little speculating.

I've had a look at Egg (I have accounts with them already) but whilst their charges are cheaper there's a monthly fee. I wouldn't use the service enough to warrant it.

Any other likely candidates?

TIA
Mark

I use egg, but the monthly fee really annoys me, luckily Im trading a fair bit at the moments so its ok, but when the techs dropped and I sat on my hands it was a bugger shelling out 4.99 every month

When I started with Virgin it was dead easy to set up. £12.95 per trade (there maybe an upper limit) and no monthly fee. At the time I could 'attach' to my current account for transfers but things changed a while ago and that facility no longer exists.

As for do's and don'ts, haven't a clue. Very much a novice when it comes to shares.

I've been keeping an eye on the FTSE 100 and MMO2 seem to be performing well. I've also heard that 3G phones could well take off big style this year. Would they be worth throwing a few pounds at?

When people say £12 a trade (for example) does that mean £12 fee for selling x shares in Company A,B,C,D,E or £12 per company?

I.E If I buy £500 worth of shares in three different companies, do I have to pay £12 per company?

I'm currently playing around on www.iii.co.uk
