Definately ... Am in the trade .
Go for the Panasonic or, if your wallet allows , the Pioneer.
The picture quality varies with the priceof the box, as does connectivity ( which is important) ie 2 scarts , rf output and digital audio output for ProLogic amps etc . Also the ability to get the best out of the signal quality varies - the cheaper the box the least reliable and worse they get !!
Would you buy a Daeoo Matiz and expect it to give the same performance as a Scoob ? ... I rest my case .

I know what you mean but I have a really cheap DVD player (Prolin 37 quid) and to be honest I cant tell the difference with my expensive one, I havent got it through my cinema amp as the wife wont have 27 speakers in the living room and the kids would wreck it anyway.
Will get one tommorow and have a play, wont go for the cheapest, the main thing is getting one that doesnt look to heinous and can have other stuff on top of it as some are weird shapes.
