Sony MD player
#1
Quick question:
Am looking at the SONY MZN510L MD player for a christmas present.
Need a player for inside a car which doesnt skip etc like a normal cd player - Do MD players skip whilst playing tracks when you hit a bump / vibration etc?
Views appreciated!

My Sony MZR91 (with 40secs antishock) will only skip if you walk with it in a 'loose' pocket, i.e. it's jumping around all the time so can never get chance to read the disk. In the car it's never skipped. Most of the new cd diskmans claim to be jogproof, not quite sure how that's possible, but it means you don't have to rule out CD.
If you're only using it for the car, I'd get a headunit instead as the tape adapter things are awful. Try MCS Direct. A mate's base model Sony MD headunit died after 30 seconds use though, so maybe this is bad advice . My Panasonic mp3/wma cd headunit has never skipped, and I've done my best to throw it around
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info, am a bit worried as likely to be used in a westfield which isnt exactly a smooth ride
U feel every bump - if this is sitting on the transmission tunnel then I am worried it will skip?
No probs connecting it up - the car has amp / speaker installed so a direct connection.
Anyone else any experience of MD's?

just sold my kenwood kmd 673r
crap sound quality compared to my pioneer.. but never skipped..
don`t think pioneer do md players for the car anymore though.. think it is just kenwood and sony..?? never really rated sony`s, but the new ones seem to be better quality than they used to be..
