Went there on Saturday, and almost made a complete a$$ out of myself. Was looking round the Lotus Cortina on display, trying to get some decent pics of the back of the beast, when I see some old bloke getting in the car.
I turned to my mate and was about to say "How come that old git gets to sit in the car?" but thought better of it, as I was in earshot of the old fella...
Took the photo of the back of the car, then realised that the "old git" getting out of the Cortina was in fact Sterling Moss. D'oh!
Still, enjoyed the show immensely - there were some fabulous motors on display (and some not so good ones... a Rover 820 looked like it'd just parked up on their stand!)
Plus, outside the arena there were more classics, like a Dino and E-Type just parked nearby. Was also an RB5 for sale there, for £15k, which I thought was a tad optimistic?

Some great cars there, though a little annoying that most had their engines on display, hence the bonnets up. Doesn't help with getting photos of the cars!
I personally liked the P911 RS Carrera (white with blue lettering), not sure if it was a 73 model. The Group B rally monsters were awesome. Jaguar's stand was great too. Didn't think much of the Ford Fiesta stand though!
I think I preferred the show overall to the normal Motorshow, as this one had special models on display in general, rather than having a huge display for say, the new Mondeo, or whacky-never-to-be-built-cus-it's-hideous concept car...
I still reckon that the £6 parking fee is a rip off though.

Went down for the weekend to Birmnigham and went to the show on saturday.
Thought it was great, loved the Mustang GT 500. Mega clean.
GrpB cars were great to see too.
Also, cant beleive how small Stirling Moss is !!!
Thought it was just some old geezer till i he was pointed out by my mate.

Believe me, the Lotus Cortina MK1 was a very special car. The sight of Hill and Clark dicing at Brands lifting the inside front wheel higher at Bottom Bend on each lap and throwing the car sideways absolutely flat just to slow it down enough to take Paddock Bend was a sight that you would never forget. I loved mine, it felt un-spinnable and was the Scooby of its time. It did not have the acceleration but 60 in first,80 in second, 100 in third and 130 in top was not bad all those years ago for a 1558 cc engine.

I was there on Sat afternoon (working on a stand).
Thought I would have been let off the parking charge, nasty NEC.
My fave car was the yellow gt40.
I thought all the cars indoors for sale were way overpriced, I didn't see the ones outdoors.
Who spotted the escort (xr3i?) and fiesta xr2 on the autoglym concours stand. For old bangers, they were immaculate (still don't like them though).

I saw both the cars, and yep, they were in good nick. Just didn't think they fitted into the "classic" category! Nor did the Fiesta stand.
I was impressed with the Porsche replicas on show. The Speedster and Spyder models, for the price, seem rather attractive.
Not quite as attractive as the P911 RS though...

Oh...also meant to say.
Seen the RB5 out in the carpark too... Couldn't beleive he was asking for £15k..
The Lotus Omega/Carlton was the same price...
I know which one i would've chosen for £15k..
