Thinking of transit style, to take some stuff over when we move, what does the ferry cost, cant get online quote for a van.

Took a motorhome over in July Dover-Calais cost £220.00 return. (7m long, 2.8m hight, so a van should be smaller and a bit cheaper)

My mate has and he tells me you need to phone up P&O to discuss options. Cost depends on many things such as how long you will be going for, where you will be going from and to and what time of day. Also try Britanny Ferries but my mate says P&O better at the moment and there are some deals around. D

Do a day return- as long as you pay cash the robbers will be unable to charge you for the much more expensive "long stay" (anything over 5 days) tarif.
If you pay by c/c they wil try and stiff you for the rest of the money. Robbers- I never pay their rip off rates, always a day return for me.

Something worth considering,

you pay for the length of the van and a short wheel base transit will be substantially cheaper than a long one because the long wheel base will fall into the next category.

Of course you could get a high top which will be the same price as height doesn't matter.

So, in the words of my missus: never mind about the length!

Cool

Just took a Discovery over for a week, which everyone on here tells me is the same as a van.
They charge about half again on top of the standard car charge and we were parked up with all the other 'vans'
