Thinking about getting a second car, diesel something, 2k budget. Im interested in giving the BCA auctions in Bedford a look in and see what i can get for my money. Thinking of either a mondeo or peugeot 306 type cars as ill be doing Mway journeys 450 round trip.
Does anyone frequent auctions, and if so any tips?
Also, can i lump in a second car onto my main insurance?

Yep, im at BCA auctions most weeks and you can get a lovely car with no problems whatsoever OR you can buy a complete dog that isnt worth a light and waist 2k.
You have no rights and its a big risk. Even ive been caught out, bought a renault lagune around 2k. Turned out the dashboard had caught fire and all the electrics were shagged. It cost a fortune to put right.
Why done you find a local car dealer that "trades" cars. At least you will be able to have good look over it and test drive it. Plus you get the additional safety of The Sale of Goods Act 19xx.
Chances are you wont get a warranty but the above act covers most things. Just dont tell the dealer you know youre covered by the act or they wont sell you the car

I was at one earlier tonight
I seen cars go for stupid prices.
A 1996 Mazda 626 for £250! There were many 1999/2000 306's going for below £3k And 97/98 Mondeos going for £2000<
There were some stupid bargains to be had. Since seeing that, I will never buy a car from a dealer again.
Go along & get a feel for how it works, then go back & set yourself an definite limit on how much you want to spend, and bid away
Good luck & happy bidding
