'damage repaired' what consequences

Hi all, looking at a 2001 S3 damage repaired advert in the trader, what are the significant problems linked with buying a car like this? does it affect warranty etc, or is it just a legally required declaration of sale?

car will be worth less you might also be offered less by the insurance company if you dammaged it again as it was worth less to start with.
depends on the dammage too ask to see pics of dammage if they are honest they will show you
