Thumbs up

Bank of Scotland, mortgages direct.

Been with them for the last 5 years, and always thought their service was good. No reason to change now, either.

We found a house we liked yesterday, and after viewing it found out the closing date will almost certainly be the end of next week. Not much time to get organised.

Phoned BoS yesterday, and told them about the urgency - they had an application form in the post which arrived today. The guy also spent 10 minutes checking my details over (after I'd got off the phone) to see if he could speed things along. He phoned me back to point out that we should have had an application form from last November, so we could use that and save the postage delay! We did, and so it helped loads.

We dropped the application form into the BoS office at 2:30pm this afternoon, and the lady we spoke to has managed to run it through the system and confirm the mortgage offer (pending the property valuation) by 5pm this evening.

They couldn't have been more helpful if they'd tried. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Oh, and their rates aren't too bad either - we'll be taking a flexible mortgage at 4.75%.

Now, just got to hope that we can get this flippin' house. <excited but nervous>

Look out for the thread titled "Yeeeeeessssss!!!!!!!!" in about 10-12 days time. That'll be the indicator of whether we've got it or not.
