Customs and Excise - DVD stopped?
#1
I have ordered a DVD from the US and I think it has been stopped by the customs for VAT. DVD was dispatched about a month ago.
Has anyone got a contact number for them?

if they are holding a package they usually send a declaration for you to fill in, happens when thet are querying the declared value.
Otherwise the carrier normally either collect duty/tax on delivery or invoice you later.

could be taking a while to ship. might be it's out of stock in the USA, I had something similar with DVD box office, but they emailed to say it was out of stock, etc...
As said, if customs and excise have it then they usually send you a form to fill in. Maybe I've been lucky, but I've ordered many dvd's and usually 3 or 4 at a time, and have never had a problem with C&E

When we ordered the Die Hard Collection for a present, we had a letter from the Post Office. When we went down we were told we had VAT to pay, we could have refused but had already paid on credit card. So that was not an option.
