Sounds like the old Traffic master sensors. Don't panic they're not speed cameras that will get you points.

Piccy - will resolve the problem , till then...

Trafficmaster poles are blue - but - generally have two small infra-red video cameras - one in each direction. There will be no lines or markjs on the road.

Truvellos (in my area are blue too - ooh I wonder why they chose that colour!!!) - but the camera heads are much-much bigger & only look in 1 direction - head at least 2x2ft square.
Modern Truvelos are often reversible in direction - so will always be accompanied by a thripple line rumble strip immediately infront of the camera (often on both sides of the road).

In my area cameras are put very quickly & planning permision sort at a later date - hence - my local new truvelo is up and ready for live operation - but - since compliance has not yet been given - the camera has been "baggd" for the last couple of months.

Chris

Which ones you talking about? There has been a lot gone up latly, where abouts in Tameside?

The ones i've spotted of late are..

Ashton old road just after the Causeway going towards ashton.
Audenshaw rd just past the resoviour
Sheply rd as you go down the dip
A6018 Roe cross
A57 (lots all the way up through Glossop and upto the woodhead pass)
Motrom old road just past the Mcd's

Sure i've missed a few.

On the road from Daisy Nook (Newmarket Road) to Ashton Road where the Peugeot Garage is. There is also one on the B6195 Lees new road near St Damians School.

They have them on the roads through Glossop heading up to the pass, not actually on the pass though. (they have the forward facing ones through Glossop.)

The ones up passed the nook, near the peugeot garage and near the school are speed cameras. Dunno if any of them work yet, not worth the chance though.

They have them everywhere now in our area, they have practically doubled in number.

Thumbs down

Yup, there the ones. Speed cameras, the only thing I find strange is the angle of the camera head. Look to be set up to get oncoming cars but they cant flash you oncoming that would be dangerous.

Question

Does any one know what these are?
I'll get a pic of one tomorrow, basically they have shot up all around Tameside, there now appears to be another post being erected approx 10 metres further down the road, presumeably for some other part I do not know, any ideas??

Title should read TAMESIDE
