As you may or may not know, my cat got run over weekend before last breaking one of his back legs and his pelvis.
He is now on cage rest for 4 weeks at least and seems to be coping well. He has unfortunately lost feeling in the end of his tail which could signal its removal. I hope this is not the case as he is a lovely looking cat as well as being exceptionally good natured.
This pic shows the extent that they had to shave him! He looks normal on one side, but very strange on the other.
Here you can see his stitches and the pin protruding through the skin. They had to cross pin due to the small amount of bone near the knee they had to work with. They warned me that the pins would come through the skin, but wasn't nice when they actually did!
He is very bright and alert, likes to sit on my lap and does not really mind too much about being in the cage. He'll get over it hopefully.
Cheers
Clare

Ooh dear that looks nasty.
One of our other cats got attacked by a fox when it was 6 mths old and dislocated his hip and his kneecap. They had to pull all the knee joint back together with a pin that was left for 3 weeks sticking out of the skin. He is fine now tho.
Hope your cat gets well soon, i am sure Brian will be up there keeping a look out for him

Thanks Dave. Still sorry for your loss
I am just worried about his tail. He's beautiful and even though I won't love him any less, he won't look the same will he? He is still not out of danger really, he could still lose his leg. Let's just hope the antibiotics keep working and he doesn't get an infection in the bone.

Katana, you've met me! I am so memorable....
Lynne, it is great to have him back even though it is awful as well. He cries in the middle of the night and doesn't like being on his own which is very difficult. I guess he is bored like any of us would be eh?
South-star, he is NOT stuffed..... yet?!

Lovely looking cat. Dont worry too much about his tail yet, our cat had the same kind of accident about 13 years ago. He recovered fully, but never recovered feeling in his tail which he still has.

Les,
The vet said if the feeling doesn't return he will just drag it around and it will get infected. Best thing to do is get rid apparently.......

Heya clare, it got deleted togethere with a lot of my research and coursework when I was virused a few months back. Damn internet, during my days the only way to get viruses was by using floppies. Ah how I reminisce the good old days..

Kat, you posted them I think in Members Gallery. Trying to remember for the life of me when it was. I know it rained, but then it always rains at SP!
Thanks everyone for your kind words. He has tried to make a run for it today out of his cage. Doesn't he know it's for his own good!?
