Having had to sell my Subaru, I need to find something cheaper.

Living in Portugal and trying to buy a car from the UK, how to I get insurance and export plates to get the car back, and at what cost?

I can't register or insure it from Portugal as it must have an Portuguese MOT test before registration.

you don't need the export plates UK ones will be fine then matriculate in Portugal- as for insurance get normal insurance , pay by installments, tell them you are taking a trip into Europe and you will be covered. Then cancel when you are in Portugal. Personally I reckon you will be better of getting a Portugese LHD car. My parents live there and thats what they did. It was too costly to metriculate. Plus LHD is a pain in the *** at tollbooths, tight parking spaces (always end up next to the wall)
