JVC VCR repairs ??
#1
This is a real long shot, but I just wondered if any Scoobyfolk knew of any JVC video repairers or sources of spare parts.
My nicam machine JVC HRD 880EK (bought in 1993 for approx. £500) has developed a picture fault. Local VCR repair shop has advised a fault on the deck, not heads. Can anyone help ??
Cheers
Simon

Whats wrong with it?
I used to repair VCR's in the days before I got into I.T
Bet I know whats wrong with it aswell being a JVC
Picture rolling/vertical bars of cr4p on the screen??
I bet its the guide arms, when you insert a tape 2 arms puul the tape round the head and lock into postition, on the JVC's either the small grub screw at the base of one of the guides is loose so the guide "wobbles" and dosn't lock into situ.
Or if your VCR rattles then the brass pin has fallen out of the bottom of the guide.
Either way, shouldn't need any parts as glue or grub screw tightening will do the trick. £45 max for a repair like that, 10 minute job
Hope this helps...

Cheers for the replies, I'm a bit loathed to give up and bin the video, as being a second machine it has had very little use; even the repair shop has said apart from the picture fault the rest is in A1 condition.
Megastream - Many thanks for your info. Could possibly do the trick will keep U posted.
Thanks
Simon
