pheww, my trip to bristol and back didn't take very long so I was a little concerned.
I did notice that there were a fair share of cars going faster than me tho' and I was cruising at 95-100 (it was very light traffic both ways).

There are NO fixed cameras on the M4 at all (between the M25 and Bristol anyway)! But they do setup on the bridges occasionally ! First hand knowledge of that

I travel the M4, at least once a week, on businees, and have seen laser cameras set up on bridges. Tell tail sign, is a large normally white van sitting on a bridge. When you get up closer you will see the radars pointing down onto the road. At the next convenient location are either a swarm of cop bikes or cars. They seem to be doing this more and more, usually by the service stations after J14, and J18 so watch out

I'm so pleased to hear, that with a horrendous 3% of all deaths on the road happening on motorways, they are targeting their funding in this area. At least I can hurtle past schools safe in the knowledge I won't get caught for speeding...
Seriously though, I slow down for anything parked on a bridge over the motorway.
