AVI,
I use TeleWest's cable modem service and it ROCKS!!!!!
Seriously, I've got nothing but good things to say about it - I've been keeping my eye on the performance recently and it's never dropped below 150Kbps but usually it's around 2Mbits!!!!
The other night I even got 4Mbit It's been dead reliable also - it costs me £33 per month and it's worth every penny - makes working from home easy and viable....
Ta,
Matt

Hi Andy
My Brother uses it and it is VERY QUICK....
I am thinking of changing over to it. Originally they charged £33 a month, they have just dropped it to £25.
He had a couple of 'teething problems', but now (after about 3 weeks) he is ecstatic about it. [well he doesn't get out much ]

Yep, I use it as well. 24hr non-stop high-speed access. It's the dogs dangly bits and at £25 it's a bargain.
I've downloaded full images of CD's (500MB+) in about 90mins.
Don't know if it still applies, but you used to get charged £50 for the installation. They were doing a special whereby if you were recommended by a friend, the install only cost £25.
I'm sure there's plenty of people here who'll recommend you (including myself if need be).
The cable modem (I've a Motorola 4100i)should have a USB and a 10/100Mbps RJ45 network connection, so you can hook it up to your PC via a spare USB port or with a 10/100Mbps network card.
Since all my A/V stuff's in a cupboard, I ran my own cable from the PC to where I asked for the modem to be installed. Since I'd also re-cabled my TV equipment, the install Engineer only spent about 25mins installing the kit - and that included a few cups of tea and a natter - very nice bloke.
The Engineer asked how many STB's (set-top boxes) I had as apparently there can be some drop in performance if the main cable feed has been split several times.
I already had it split twice (STB and separate feed for terrestrial TV/Radio), but I've not had any problems with it being split 3 times now.
Hope this helps
Stefan

AVI, I've got BlueYonder and it rocks.
Also, I think they're doing a deal if you already have any of there other services (tv, phone) they offer internet for £25 instead of £33

Glad my hard work is paying off I work for Telewest, looking after the local and national transmission network. It's nice to hear good things for a change rather than the grief I get all day long at work. (Don't live in the franchise or I would get it cheap)
