I use Microsoft Outlook 2000 on my home PC which is connected to the internet via NTLWorld. Norton Antivirus 2000 is configured to scan my mail also.
Problem is when I send attachments, the recipient does not get them (they just get the text portions of the message.) I recieve attachments OK and the messages I send still have the attachments on them if I look in my sent items folder.
If a computery type could offer some advice I would be very pleased

Is it the same for everybody you send to or just one person?
If just one person they might have the option turned on that doesn't allow attachments to be received at all.
Did the problem start when you installed Norton?

Can't say when this started as I don't send that many attachments. Seems that no one gets my attachments now be it a jpeg or a word document. Its a bit annoying though!

try sending a mail to yourself with an attachment. see what happens. i use ntlworld with a cable modem and it sends attachements fine. i also use win me and outlook 2000.
send me something - druddle@ntlworld.com - and we will then see if it something that gets stripped outside of the ntlworld mail servers.

Cheers Druddle,
I have right clicked and saved the Scoobynet logo and e-mailed it to you as a jpeg.
Just tried sending something to my own ntlworld account and the attachment was there OK. Sent the same message to my Yahoo account and there was nothing in the attachment when I opened it.
Hopefuly this is telling us something??
Many thanks.

I think I've fixed this. Outlook was sending all my messages as Rich text and people without outlook were getting attachments as a load of junk text. I've changed the default setting to plain text and all seems OK for the moment.
