I have a website created via FP. I suffered a disk crash and so have no local copy. How can I download the site back to my PC? I have FP and Dreamweaver (tho I've not used DW) Can anyone help please?

Now I'm no expert but I imagine that you open your ftp programme and instead of uploading your site files, you do the opposite and download the files. I've just tried it using the ftp package on Explorer on one of my sites and it worked, just right click on the files you want and then save onto your computer.

I know there are more skilled people out there so maybe they can help further.

Presumably you have the access codes to your webspace?

Download cuteftp or similar (& watch out for the web usage pattern reporter )

In FrontPage, go to File and click on import. You can now select the URL of where your site is stored and import it into FrontPage. It doesnt always work but I managed to do it to my companys site and they are a massive Blue Chip outfit!!

Thanks everyone. I'll give it a try although at this stage I must confess I've never seen the import facility. I'll let you all know the results.

Do NOT use FTP. Using FTP loses a lot of FP functionality.

As DW says, use the import.
