Has anyone had experience of insuring a car that was previosuly a category C or D write-off (i.e. uneconomical for insurance company to repair) but that is now fully repaired and road worthy?

HPi say that you should inform your insurance company if trying to insure such a vehicle and I was wondering what real difference it will make?
