Going for an interview at a fund managment bank for the role of senior anlyst/developer

what questions should I ask? What might they ask (HR at least)? Will I have to tell a joke?

Help much appreciated.

You'll find it will be competency based interviewing, so try to prepare examples for the usual set like;

Give an example of how you analysed a problem, how did you go about getting the information required ?
What did you do when all the information was not present ?

Give an example of when you received many requirements, how did you prioritise your work and keep tabs on it ?
If there were conflicts in delivery times, how did you manage them ?

Give an example of when you went out of your way for something. What was the outcome ?

Have you managed a team before ?

How did you structure your testing ?

What methodologies have you followed ?

You moved from X job to Y job, why was this ?

etc etc

You should read up on the company itself to show a bit of background knowledge, this usually helps in interviews as it shows interest in working there.
Ask about the work culture, career progression and how they determine the path, usual benefit type stuff can sometimes be covered during the initial pre-amble by them.

Don't crack jokes, may come across as being cocky, but don't come across as being too serious either (doesn't help I know)
All in all, BE YOURSELF

Oh, and make sure you know you're CV inside out.
They'll ask you to elaborate on some aspects.

Are you/ have you sitting/sat a tech-test yet ?
This may form part of the interview.

And best of luck mate.

I have been compiling an interview document with sub companies at the particular site, press releases, stock details, etc.

it's going to be a verbal tech test. I've been preparing - it's quite tedious going through books, etc!

Oh, when you give examples, make sure it's a combination of "team" and "I did this"

Most HR bods want to hear how YOU managed to tackle a problem and solved it, so try not to be generic with "we did it this way"
