Screenwash - or lack of it - does the bad weather come as such a shock.

Travelled Northampton to Southampton and home again.

Ran out of screenwash just outside of Southampton on the homeward leg. Could not get any in any and i do mean ANY screenwash from ANY servivce stations betwixt Southampton & Northampton - about 130 miles.

Does the bad weather come as such a shock? How can they run out of such basic consumables as screenwash?.

Perhaps i should convert the screenwash tank to work on Fanta or Wagonwheels as they do not seem to run out of these.

Garages/service stations - Listen up!
Try giving over a little more shelf space to essentials instead of potted meats and cotton buds!

How about this for an idea - plan ahead with your stock - screenwash in the winter and 3 litre cola bottles in the summer!

Rant over!

In future, why don't you just drive a little closer to the car in front.
If it is a Volvo or Cavalier/Vectra, the driver will spray his screen thinking the stream emitted from one of the broken nozzles will cover your windscreen with water and p155 you off.
Due to this phenomena I never have to use screenwash on motorways and save lots of money too

My Father-in-law brews his own hooch at home. Let's just say its strong :-)

Not only does he drink the stuff he uses it as screenwash as it will never freeze !

Imagine how embarrassed my mother-in-law gets whenever he cleans the screen in town :-)

Bajie, dont be so stupid, those drivers dont even clean their windscreens

Paul, try buying a bottle of washing up liquid (better availability in petrol stations!), and add a very small amount of that then fill up with water as a short term alternative.

Sometimes even just clean water is good enough if no screenwash or fairy liquid is avaliable......and when your in there, take the hard work out of it by generously rinsing your windscreen anyhow.

I thought fairy liquid was something you delivered on your frequent lunar excursions

Alistair

Not so much of a shock to me. the reason i do not carry a full spare 60 gallon petrol tank or 5L screenwash in the boot is because service stations are there to provide for us motorists. - i used the 5 litres in my tank getting to Southampton in bad conditions.
