Connecting digital camcorder to PC

Question

What the best (and cheapest) way of connecting my digital camcorder to my PC?

I'm hoping to edit or print off stills. I know that you can get various cards with S-video inputs (such as Win TV, etc) but which is best?

Can I use the USB port?

Hi D Rik here and i use the USB port cause its alot quicker then the parellel port and have had no prob up to yet, hope this helps mate. Rik

I've just purchased a DV camcorder (sony trv20)and also a firewire card plus software
(pinnicale studio DV - £89.99 from jungle.com). This setup seems to work quite well. For more info check out this webboard-http://webboard.pinnaclesys.com

Buy a TV card with S video socket.

Haupage do one @ £50 ish. TV cards seem to come with Video Capture as standard.

Anymory questions, ask DaveU. He has a "guru" in the field working for him

Buy the Pinnacle DV Studio. It's what Simon & I have used to create the movies that had been made at Bruntingthorpe. It can capture stills and produce professional movie sequences.
