Talking

I've just heard that my copy of Grand Prix 3 has arrived at home. Although I've driven the warez version there's nothing like using the original. Any other Crammond fans out there, or is it all CMR?

Cut my PC driving-game teeth on F1GP.

I've heard some complaints that GP3 physics aren't that good and potentially are worse than GP2. Also heard that it is really GP 2.1 rather than GP3.

Of course, this is just rumour and slander from the pro-GPL and pro-WSC camps. Plus, comparing some warez beta with the finished release isn't always that useful.

I would be interested to hear your review of the full version. The accelerator spring on my Thrustmaster T2 wheel has gone (must have held it open for too long ) so I've gotta replace it, or fork out for a FF wheel before I buy GP3! I quite like the look of the Guillemot Ferrari wheel...

Unhappy

First impressions are that it is VERY like GP2. Good graphics (and so they should be on my AMD 750 with Geforce20, but a lot of effects like lightening in the background. Wet weather is superb.

I'll have a good go over the weekend (after I've washed the Scoob of course) and tell you more (I don't know about a full review though).

PS first impressions are that the beta is not significantly different from the finished article to my untrained eye.

SAM, they've already sent me some free pots to replace the original one that was jumping around, I felt a bit guilty about asking again! I guess if I can get a spring for less than a tenner, I could still justify the new wheel, then I'd have two, one for each computer!

As for convincing the missus, I'll have to do better than "I need it for a racing game" otherwise it will be "What? Another one??"

XRS, type what you can, it's all useful information!
