ok...prepare...im gonna have a bit of a rant.

<takes deep breath>

last night whilst driving home from work, i had radio one on as usual and they were talking about that woman/group who has released the remixes of Madonnas Like a Prayer and Holiday.
Now if they werent **** enough...totally ruining what were great and classic choons...the stoopid cow is releasing an album.

her next track to be released...and this is where all old skool ravers should take note...

is Heart of Gold!!!!

i couldnt believe it! she has taken a brilliant and classic old skool choon...and totally fcuked it up.

please...all email radio one and get the song banned for ruining listeners taste in music!!!!

<rant over>

that woman should be dragged into the street and shot.

Question

Suze, you mean Heart of Glass, Blondie's song?

Totally agree though. Just proves most of the good songs have already been written. Very little imagination these days, IMO.

Sowwy. I was thinking of The Tide Is High, recently assassinated by Nuclear *****.

Bloody awful. And it still got to number one. Nuff said.

Now I've reached 29, I've stopped listening to Radio 1 - it's suddenly gone a bit 'yoof'. Kids who lisen to it now haven't even heard of Blondie...

The golden age of Radio 1 was Steve Wright in the afternoon, with arnee and the terminators.....ahh golden days.

I know hwere your coming from, I saw an ad last night for an album called Bonkers - the music on it was ...well.....crap!!

Turn on the radio and hear this **** from these cheesheads, its sould destroying to think that kids like this music - if they could have seen and did what we did!!

Vision, Fantazia, World Dance - the vibe in the day was unrepeatable, I still get it a little at Soul Weekenders and stuff but back in the day people were different. None of this guns and attitude crap thats surrounds the UK garage scene! I recently DJd at a Garage Nation event in the US room and we went for a wonder round the venue - I must have nearly got in 4 fights!! - wtf??

Iam just glad we all had the chance to experiance it and sad that therse kids today dont know how good it can be!

Ahh, thats better - lets go and get shedded!!!

Totally agree, anyone else remember when Ministry of Sound wasn't a cue to run a mile? And add Universe too the list of top raves.

Well thank you for your input. I'll pass it on to My mate when I next see him. My mate being DJ sharkey
Dont call it crap cos hardcore is coming back whether you like it or not. The vibe you go on about is not unrepeatable as I've been rushing every weekend for tha last two years at hardcore raves up and down the country.
Try actually going to ta rave before you condemn a style as crap just because you are feeling old.

AB - clam yourself matey!!, christ!!

Apologies if you like that music and fair play to Shrkey!, didnt know he was still at it!! BTW - Iam allowed to think a certain type of music is crap!, 180bpm with cheese fest lyrics over the top??

I dont want to start a ruck here mate so Iam genuinly sorry if I offended you, wasnt my intenion at all! How old are you?? 18??

Please dont comment on what it was like back in 92 when you wernt there!, practice what you preach!

If Hardcore is coming back then good!, Iam pleased but your definition of hardcore is wildly different to the original difinition!!

Well what do you expect mate, you're at garage nation so you gotta expect crack fuelled garage rude bwoys!
Go to a gayragde do (there is no such thing as a garage rave) and you will have fights. Go to a hardcore RAVE, party all night and feel fantastic.

Thanks for the invite but I will give it a miss

No amount of Doves could keep me up with the pace of the music these days!!

Iam actually pleased to see that the scene is still going!, I know that Unknown is still banging out tracks with SY etc etc.

Having re-read the original post and paid more attention this time!

I thought you meant that Madonna was doing the remix but it is Kelly Llorenna. In the middle of listening to it just now as I type and I personally don't see anything wrong with it. Bit cheesy but that's what the kids these days want!

I rate Kelly Llorenna very highly and having met her a few times in my past raving days she is really nice.

I'm now going to download the original now and compare the two as my old brain what it used to be!

I'm 26 mate. no I wasnt there "back in the day" but I dont like the way people think the rave scene is dead simply cos its not like it used to be.
"how many DJs does it take to change a light bulb?
3. One to change the light bulb, the other two to suck their teeth saying "Its not as good as the original light bulb"

fair dos. all entitled to your own opinions.

i just cant stand her remixes. the originals are much better.

but yeah youre right AJ... all the "kids" are into that crap.

i just think that Heart of Gold the original was FAR better. it is a classic old skool choon and she has gone and ruined it with her karaoke singing voice.

I remember the first rave I went to, it was in '89 when I was 17. Those were the days.

BTW, listening to the original Heart of Gold just now, my 3 year old just said "that's a banging tune mummy" What a dude
