Kiss 100 London. Oh fcuking dear...

Battries on my walkman died on the way to work this morning. So no hardcore to make the train go quicker. Still enough to work the radio though so I tuned into kiss for the first time for a couple of years.
After about 5 minutes I realised why I'd gone over to tapes in the first place.
No slight to Street and BamBam. They hadnt changed a bit and made me laugh out loud on the way over London Bridge.
The Tunes, however, were nothing short of shocking. A few years ago, Kiss was a feirce station. You had every chance of hearing Valley of the Shadows at 8am on a monday morning It was what made it different to the commercial ****e on the other stations.
This morning I was treated to a non stop commercial pop drivel extravaganza. It consisted mainly of a "RnB" (in the loosest sense of the word) back beat while some manufactured plastic pop bint driveled on and on about how sexy she was and what "A fine booty" she had. **** knows what it all really meant cos I aint a clue.
If that wasnt bad enough then at the end the fookin ketchup song came on!! It was enough to make me want to plant some semtex in their studio for crimes against music.
"Sorry Street, sorry Bam you used to be underground, but now you've gone commercial you've gotta die. Nothing personal, its just the way it has to be." *sets timer and runs away*
It all went gurgling down the crapper after Gordon Mac, the station founder, jumped ship.
I didnt even recognise the station I was listening to this morning.
rant and 100% justified musical snobbery over.
astraboy.

Every station has gone the same way, they all seem to be under the control of the record companies and their marketing departments these days.
Then those self same record companies complain about sales being down because of Napster, etc & pirating, it is nothing to do with that, if they stop peddling the same old recycled sh1te, bring out some decent tunes by some decent artists and people might actually buy be inspired to part with their money:angry: Nobody is going to shell out their hard earned on the same Cathy Dennis tune (I use that term loosely) that they have been listening to for the last ten years, just because it has been recorded by the latest Tone-Deaf Non-entity from Popstars:angry:

Kiss was bought out by EMAP (Own Capital, Magic, Max Power, Revs MCN etc etc etc)
Overnight it became utter ****e. Got rid Of Jackson and replace him with that **** BamBam. (Hated Streetboy originally) Cahnges the playlist. I heard a rumour a few years back they dont play anything over 2 years old now. (SO no Hype Fugees remix !!!)
did anyone read about the Aussie tossbag Robin Banks and his 2 am hijacked show. I can honestly say I dont listen to Kiss very much, might flick accross occasionally. Support the Pirates! its the way foward
I thank u!

My co promoter Davespice is in charge of that one mate. We have recordings of the whole of Astradance II. Unfortuantly his tape deck was placed on top of the amp and overheated. this caused the recordings to comeout at 2/3rds normal speed. What hes doing is uploading each set onto his PC then increasing the speed till its acceptable, then converting it to MP3 format. After hes done the lot Astradance II will be on the net for all to listen.
Astradance I is already on there. Go have a listen mate. May I suggest Hattrixx and Desire's set. Triple bossak on toast.

Funny I was saying exactly the same to the missus the other day, I remember when KISS was a pirate station and if someone had told me that they will be playing Kylie manogue in ten years i would have laughed my head off.
It is sad but you can't blame the guy for doing it he's now minted.

There aren't that many good ones out there any more either....
The rise of Pop Garage has seen to that......
Bring back Dream FM - proper underground station.....

I liked Dream. Especailly near the end when it became more house orientated. Remember reading a interview in a mag with them saying the only way they made money was to put on events, and that there was more demand for house events rather than Hardcore/DnB type nights.
But since were in reminicing mode. Who can remeber the FM number for DON FM? That was the 1st Pirate station I ever listened to!
