same topic- watch Ghost busters yesterday with my 6 yr old...told her how scary it was and how i had nightmares for years after about the lady in the libary. She just sat there rather bored by all the VERY false looking FX !!!

good point though, you stick a 6 yr old in front of the The Thing and it wont even compare to the nasty effects they see on TV nowadays.
T
serious (ish) moment....at the end of Ghostbusters they cross the gun streams and blow up Goza and half of the building they are in. The effects shot of the building going up looks like (though not as dramatic) the WTC getting hit. Just as i was thinking "ohhh, looks like WTC" my kid says, "will the building fall down now like the New York ones with the people from afganastanaaay"
She said this very matter of factly as though she sees it on the news everyday. (which she doesnt of course.....the news is broken up with bus bombs in israel and sniper serial killers in DC!!! )

For all you 80s guys/gals out there. Airwolf has been bought and striped down to the point of no one recognising her anymore. How can the new owner do such things to a perfectly beautiful flying machine. I say we all chip in and buy her.

Of God how oId do I feel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can still remember my grey shoes that laced up at the side and my long grey socks that I wore for school. The only problem was to keep the socks up you had to make and elastic garter for the top of each one which usually resulted in cutting the curculation off to your legs!
