Top Gear just demonstrated how to beat gatso's. Do over 170mph!!!
Cool! It's too fast for the camera to react!

How many copycat impressions will there be

Don't bother trying if you have the original ECU controlling boost - there is a speed limiter at 147 mph on UK cars.

i was told they would catch you with the first flash but not with the second due to the speed but the rozzers would still prosecute as they know you wouldhave been in excess of the speed limit to beat the second flash.

not according to Clarkson this eveninig, the car was travelling so fast the camera didn't even see it

Is that why my 00MY stops accelerating at around 145 then. Bugger !

I have the fool proof way of beating the gatso.

If your belting down a road 140mph/170mph and you come across a 40 zone patrolled by the dreaded gatso put your foot on the break pedal, this will illuminate your rear cluster with a red glow.
Keep pressing the centre pedal until your Speedo shows 40mph or below.

Am certain you will get through the zone without a flash in site

I wondered if it was significant that it was a TVR? Large amount of fibreglass, poor radar reflection?

Wink

Good point, they should have done a "control" test at 70mph.
