Does anyone else think cable telly is rubbish ??

We've had cable telly installed for around 4 years now and were recently urged by them to upgrade to the digital package.
Its soooo cr4p !! You pay more, get a second-hand set-top-box thingy, the remote controllers have cr4ppy buttons that stick all the time, they keep changing the channels around all the time (usually getting rid of one of the ones you actually watch) and they won't pull their finger out and make Sky Sports Extra available to us..
I know most of you will say that we should upgrade to Sky, which we probably will do, but does anyone else here think that they just take your money each month and don't really look after you ??
rant mode off...
Cheers,

Dont find it that bad to be honest. What do you mean they move channels around???? Only ones that change on mine are the trial ones which you can watch for a month before deciding to subscribe to it.
The fact you get premiership plus for £1 a month and get ITN news chann which shows euro matches and is only on cable means more to me than a few extra camera views and listening to a couple of chump fans doing the commentary.
The interactive side of things is bollocks but cant say I use it that much on Sky at work or at my parents.
Simon.
P.S. Is there no equivalent on the sky control of the back button on the NTL digital remote??? Most useful button going IMHO.

I found cable (Telewest) pretty poor initially until it tried to upgrade it's digital service. Slight improvement but it's interactive features were always sh*te.
Thought about going Sky-wards, but sometimes you suffer digital interference depending on weather conditions, so it's really six and half of the other....

I had Sky digital and recently switched to Telewest cable
Sky digital has a better selection of channels.
Sky digital has FAR better picture quality.
Sky digital has a better/faster menu system
Sky digital has better picture quality
Sky digital uses better quality hardware (remote/set top box etc)
Sky digital has better picture quality
Sky digital doesn't reset your set top box at random
Telewest comes with 1Mb broadband and cheap phone calls. If sky did broadband i'd still be subscribing.
