I have a Kodak professional 35mm film. Can this be developed in the normal high street emporiums (Dixons, etc.)or does it require the services of a specialist outfit?

Isn't that slide film instead of normal negative?
If it is I don't think that many highstreet booths do process slides, they usually send away.
The chemical process is totally different.
I believe one uses a process called E6 the other C41, they are quite different.
Usually you get the processing as part of the original price of the film and you get a little envelope to post it away in. Certainly this always has been the case for Kodak films.
It might be worth writing to them saying you'd lost the envelope, I would bet they would process them and return them.

go to boots!!
they'll sort you out.
avoid backsteet processors, they use old chemicals and
the results of you prized film will be pants.
You only get one go at developing!!!
good luck

If it's the slide film it will have to go to Kodak for processing.. and this is included in the price of the film.. Best bet is to nip into a local store and ask to look at one of the pre-paid envelopes.. then send yours to that address.. If it's C41, will probably be marked, any high street store can do it..
