Has anyone used one of these (turns 12v from cigar lighter into 240v for laptop/TV etc)?

Any recommendations/warnings?

Im using a small 100w invertor. On small appliances it is ok, but it really needs the engine running for anything close to the 100w limit or it bleeps cery annoyingly at me. Perhaps a biger one may be better. I think it needs the 13.8v to actually get a good 240v supply. When its just the battery on its own, it struggles.
It works ok though. Just be careful that whatever you are using isnt easily damaged by low voltage/spikes in the supply voltage.

I bought a 150W one from morgan's for about £40, use it to power a salty old laptop with a duff battery, to charge the batteries on cordless drills, and to keep the glow starter charged for my RC cars.
never had any problems, whats it for?

For the usual - laptop (cheaper than OEM 12V cable), AA battery charging, lights etc.
Nothing too large, but might go camping in the future?
