Question

Depends on the families

Seriously though, depends on circumstances that are surrounding why I am in that position to start with, can you give background?
For example, if I did sacrifice myself, would the families actually survive or would it be a futile effort?

Sorry, but I'd be selfish and let them die.

I could.

Don't know them. Although I could save them by my selfless act, its not due to me that they are going to die.

Therefore I have no guilt.

Phil I would have to take the option of being a survivor! Not knowing the 'families' I would be saving is a hell of a lottery!
Plus, who knows if I stay alive - I might be able to help more than 5 families in another situ.

Ah..thats different, cos I'm there and can try and save them without guaranteed death.

Yeah, I would have a damn good go at it.

Being in the army is more like the burning car question rather than your first question.

If it was die or they die, then everyone will choose survival, if it's fight or they die, then the choice should be fight.

A fairer question would surely be :-

Say you could save 5 families lives by risking your own life ...What would you do??????

It's all very well asking the question Phil and then saying you 'think' you couldn't live with the guilt. I don't think anyone can truthfully answer until they are actually confronted with the choice of sacrifice or survive. Then only can you see how strong human instinct of survival is.

Ima.

on the 8 year old question, its a difficult call, but it shouldn't be dependant on age/sex whatever.

At the end of the day its me or them, they take the bullet.

LOL.....Jason...

We should all in a perfect world say yes to my question....thats where i am going.

I know its hard..but the most important question here is could you live with the guilt of knowing you could have saved 5 families.......nowt wrong with saying yes..it means you are out for yourself...and why not?..I on the other hand would feel shame...nowt wrong with admitting that.

let them die. ppl die all the time.

if i sell my scoob i could give the money to some starving folk and they'd live, i dont and they die.

thats life.

and i dont think ppl join the forces to die for some unkown family.

Thumbs down

It's a stupid question, and totally meaningless.

If it was 5 members of my wife's family, I'd save them. If it was 5 members of my own family, I'd let 'em die.

If it was 5 strangers, I'd let them die.

As Tiggs says, we all make decisions every day which if made differently could save peoples' lives. The amount of money I spend on food per day could feed a family of 6 for a week or longer in the 3rd-world. But there's no way I'm going to give up my KFC or the large pizza I've just eaten and give the money to charity...

It's your responsibility to get your spelling right, but you don't do it either.

Out of interest, what's your motivation behind asking this question?

"Tiggs what do they die for then"

i dont think they join to die at all?

this is all cack anyway.

if i told you you could get on a plane fly to africa and use your own wealth to transform the lives of twenty families while saving half of them from certain death would you? go on, you dont even have to die for it!

get yourself a flight then!

T

ps- marko, for a stuff crust i would actually kill 10 families

heres another angle guys:

What if you sacrificed yourself to let the 5 families live
and one of them went on to commit some haenus(sp?) crime
against mankind?
Your futile act of self sacrifice has actually cost the lives
of hundreds of families instead of saving 5.

just a thought!!!!!

You join the army..knowing that your life is on the line for your country so our children can grow.

No i wouldnt give money to starving families like i f*cking said its not my business...i am just saying would you give your life to save others..and quite blatently you have all said no!!!!
