Proof the property market has gone stark raving bonkers!

Reported in today's Daily Telegraph...

A static caravan on a park near Southampton was valued at £99,950 by a local estate agent and sold in two weeks at that price. The owners paid £38,000 two years ago.

It's got two bedrooms - madness, pure madness!

 

LMAO...unbelievable!

Then again, I've heard of people paying good money for a beach hut...it's a shed for christ's sake!

 

Get it right! It was a mobile home in Hedge End which typically is an expensive area anyway. I agree though- still mad at that price.

 

Caravan = mobile home !

Tell me about it! I'm a potential 1st time buyer in this area and this sort of thing is only just within my price range [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

I wish I had bought a caravan (or two) for 38K a couple of years ago when I could have afforded it

What's the full story ?

If there's planning permission on the land then it's a building plot for £100k which doesn't seem that bad in the right place......

If it's just for a mobile home then 'kin 'ell !

It's on a MOBILE HOME park on the outskirts of southampton in a prestigious area. My friend has a MOBILE HOME there and it's a very nice area. Down the road a relative of mine owns a house worth 350K. I'm not an estate agent but I know houses are very expensive here anyway

I only brought my house for £5000 more than that...and that's only down the road... Well, quite a bit down the road...in a nicer area(in some peoples opinions, personally I like being on the endge of the New Forest more than a motorwat )...oh well! ...wonder how much mine is worth now...

lol @ Chris - it was one of the cheapest we could find!! All the others were flats...or caravans Luckily I have a bloke who doesn't work for the Council

LOL - What a great idea Chris! I reckon we could get a caravan in each garden and one on the drive so that should be more than enough to cover a couple of P1's and a couple of Skylines each? Trouble is, where would we store them?!
