The taxman has just given me a cheque for 2 grand. I'm in several minds as what to do with it.
1. Blow it on the STI PPP
2. Buy a LCD projector and screen for a kick *** Home cinema setup
3. Pay off part(a small one) of the mortgage
4. Upgrade various bits and bobs
.. Add 125gb Disk to my Tivo, giving me 100+ hours on it
.. Upgrade my 2 spare PC's from (2 350/400 to 1Ghz+)
.. Fit wireless networking in the house so I roam and surf
5. Blow it on a holiday
6. Save it for a rainy day/unexpected bills.
7. Spend it on satnav for the car

Help!

If the money is something you were not expecting, then you have two options:

A) My missus would say, pay off your debts
B) I would say, buy some toys

Personaly, I would blow it on a holiday, but that is just down to the kind of day I'm having

Cheers

Ian

Thumbs up

I think you've got the order pretty much correct there.

This is also the order in your mind, so go get the PPP...!!

Thumbs up

1. Blow it on the STI PPP
Too much money for not enough gain.
2. Buy a LCD projector and screen for a kick *** Home cinema setup
Could do, but you'd probably need to structurally alter the house (the fan of an LCD projector's annoying, so you'd want it in another room behind glass, really).
3. Pay off part(a small one) of the mortgage
Pointless - unless your mortgage is very small, it'll be insignificant. If your mortgage is small enough, you don't need to rush to pay it off.
4. Upgrade various bits and bobs
Could do, but you can do that anyway over time.
5. Blow it on a holiday
Definitely a possibility.
6. Save it for a rainy day/unexpected bills.
You could put it aside for your next tax bill.
7. Spend it on satnav for the car
2 grand? Get yourself a StreetPilot III for £700, and spend the other £1300 on something else.

I could help you out by taking off your hands.

You won't need to worry about what to spend it on then

I think you should let your wife spend the money on nice new designer clothes and shoes. Women can never have too many!
