As Al Murray says: a pint for the gentleman and a medium-sweet white wine or fruit-based cocktail for the lady

Beer:

bottle of Becks (hot day)
Black Sheep bitter (cold day)

Spirits:

Rock Hill Farm, AAA or Old Forester bourbon with a threat of water (evenings in)
Jack Daniels & dry ginger (evenings out)
Whisky Mac (winter evenings)

Wine:

Tesco Chilean White with a chinese meal (£2.79, can't whack it)

Cool

Carlsberg Special Brew or Tennents Extra. And i don't live under a cardboard box, i just can't stand weak beers!
Although in a pub i normally go for a pint of London Pride.
K cider is also good, especially in summer.
And if it's wine, a Cabernet Sauvignon, from South Africa or Australia preferably.

Just got 48 bottles of wine from Laithwaites for £65 by using barclaycard points, not used em for ages.

Cant go wrong at that price, ie if its alright you get drunk, if its not the wife can use it to cook with or trap slugs in the garden. Its less than £1.50 a bottle.

My nearest local stoped selling Caffreys and the quality of the Bass and Worthington isn't very good IMO. It doesn't leave any traces on the side of the glass.

Hence moving to the next pub up the road which does a good pint of Caffreys

Carling Premier - lovely stuff. Unfortunately most pubs only have the gnat's pi$$ variety. If I can't get that, it's Becks or Grolsch.

Any decent whiskey.

Wink

Has to be Jack Daniels, diet coke in a tall glass with ice!! Then every drink thereafter reduce the DC. Wetherspoons is a good place to drink JD as it's only another 20p for an extra shot - well you just have too don't you. Hitting Grimsby on Friday night with the girlies so Saturday will be a bit rough!!!!!!!!!!!

Carlsber Export
Grolsch
Bud Ice

Also:

Smirnoff Ice (i can't believe how many I can drink and how easy they are to drink)
Southern Comfort

Wine:

New world Sauvignon Blanc's (these are fab, consistantly good and fruity) eg Villa Maria, Rosemont Estate, Oxford Landing etc
Chablis (& premier cru )
Sancerre

Cool

Ratman, Carling Premier is a nicer version of Carling, nothing to do with the Premiership. It's less gassy than regular Carling - a lot smoother, almost creamy.

Top stuff, try it, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Aaaahh, lower CO2 content, more N2. (Nitrogen forms smaller bubbles than Carbon Dioxide, hence smoother lager with creamier head.) ABV of 4.7% helps probably as well!

When I hear Carling Premier, why do I think of California Dreaming, 6 Underground and Cars???

Yeah, won't touch Carling but Carling Premier is a nice pint.

Usually fall back on Smirnoff Ice when I'm full on pints

Ferne, Buzz is allowing you out then? Is he left holding the baby so to speak.

By the way many happy returns for the other day, buzz did invite me but we were going to Liverpool for the weekend.

Drank way too much red wine, my missus rang me and told me off for having 2 pints of guinness in pub with David Wallis on Monday. "You had alot to drink on saturday you know, go steady driving".

good advice but she did not apply this on sunday when we drove back, especially as i had stayed up an extra 2 hours drinking compared with her.
