Getting a book published?
For what it's worth - there are companies that advertise their services usually in the back of better quality women's mags - like Woman & Home - Prima - Essentials etc. I have no idea what their services are like some of them are a you have to pay type deal.
The best thing you can do is ring up a well known publisher and just ask their advice. I would think you would need to send your manuscript off to several publishers before you get any interest. But before doing that ensure that you have safeguarded your copyright.
A good trick is to send a copy of the relavent manuscript to yourself and your solicitor by registered / recorded delivery prior to mailing it off - if it remains unopened then it would go some way to proving ownership if it ever came to a plagerism issue. But your best bet would be to speak to your solicitor first before sending anything to anyone.
