been a few posts about wasps but no soloution to andom BBQ attack!

last w/end i had a bbq and had to give up in the end cause 5-6 wasps liked my burger relish! does this mean i have a nest nearby or does a good relish attract them from miles around?

and how can i deter them from my next bbq?

you might want to rephrase the term "bbq" before i inform the charcoal police

read somewhere that the little ******* don't go out of a 40 metre radius from the nest.

 

I've heard that putting some jam in a small bowl on the other side of the garden from the barbie can work -- not that you'll be getting the barbie out this weekend, with the pissing miserable weather ...

 

jones, maybe that make the extra effort when the bbq is as good as mine!

I've got one of those blue lights with the electrical surround that zaps all things flying. Works a treat. Best to have BBQ's at night though, so you should get a patio heater while you are there

(I left the blue light on from March til October last year - probably created untold havoc in the local ecosphere, but at least we had no flies at the BBQ's )
