I saw this live on TV, made me feel sick when I saw it happen, the way his head was being tossed around I thought he'd broken his neck
Just seen this report on his web site for anyone that's interested. Seems he got away very lightly
It could have been a lot worse
James ended up in a Kent hospital today after a massive accident that sent spectators silent and stopped the Brand Hatch World Supersport round for the second time.
James was looking good- a creditable sixth on the grid, and a decent start saw him sitting comfortable, duelling for fourth place when the race was stopped on lap seven for a big accident involving Stephane Chambon.
One lap into the restart and James was lying 3rd, but while exiting the last corner the rear of the Belgarda Yamaha let go and James went down with the bike in a fast, tangled mess, perilously close to pit wall. The race was stopped again, and James was carted off in the ambulance and diagnosed as having a broken and dislocated elbow; he goes under the knife tomorrow (Monday).

Bad enough eh?
Hes a tuff little northerner...he'll bounce back!
Did you ever see the Franco Uncini crash in the '80s? I think it was Assen (Dutch TT) about '82 or '83, came off from a high side and as he was scrabling to get away to the side of the track another rider...couldnt decide which way to go to avoid him hit him right in the swede! (Ron Haslem or Wayne Gardener).
It was absolutely sickening!!!

I was at Brands and just opposite Jamie when this happened.
I can assure you it looked even worse in real life than on TV (Just reviewed the highlights as well).
Everyone in the crowd thought he would be really seriously injured. I'm really glad to hear he's going to be ok, and I hope it doesn't affect his season too much. A real shame as well as he'd just moved into 3rd place and was really going well.

When you meet the guy, its hard to imagine that he can ride bikes like he does, cos he's not exactly well built
Its a shame there are not a few more people like him in motorsport in general !!!!

I wasn't too far away from you then Sheepsplitter (nice name by the way!). I was dead opposite the sitting pretty, non-racing Petronas pit.
The luckiest thing about his off was that he wasn't catapulted into or over the pitlane wall. It was a nasty high side that flipped him off!
He was tossed down the track like a rag doll, but very lucky to get away with just a busted elbow.

Has anyone heard what's happened to the guys who fell hard in the SuperStock race at the start of the day?
Looked as bad, possibly worse than Jamies get off, hope they are OK as well.

The crash was a nasty one for sure and I'm please that Jamie is doing OK. He did give everyone the thumbs up which was a relief before being put inside the ambulance.
