Having been to the Channel Islands in June, I'd definitely recommend it. Sark or Herm would be perfect - loads of beaches, lovely countryside, peace & quiet, and no cars, so perfect for kids.

Thumbs up

I think Italy's really nice at the end of the summer.
Good food and shopping. The beaches arn't too shabby either.

I can reccommend Sorrento, late August.

i took my missus and little girl to menorca, nice clean unspoit place with plenty to see and lots for the kids. cars are cheap aswell if you want a drive out. it was miles better than i thought it would.
the capital citadella? is one of the best spots i have ever been to.
