I was sent an e-mail from a friend.
I've also noticed the white vans with the cameras on the Leighton Bypass.

Steve,

Thanks for the 'heads up' but it's a week too late for me...

A5 Dunstable North.

Oh, and you can get this info on the police web site I believe.

Thanks Steve,

I did notice a white van just like you describe the other week on the A5 south where there is a nice long straight road down hill just before going up hill to Hockliffe. Sorry chaps (especially Floyd) I should have put it on the Scoobynet.

I've just bought myself a new radar detector, so it will be a good opportunity to see if these things really work.

Jane

That's the place, I just thank my lucky stars that I wasn't in the scoob that day otherwise I'd have been doing 'ahem' speeds along there.....

There was only one vehicle that flashed a warning, but as it was a lorry I thought he was saying hello to one on my side. DOH!

Almost got done on the leighton bypass. Didn't realise the van in front was warning me by pulling out to stop me overtaking, just thought he was being an ar** hole, so I shot round him on the other side of the road before seeing the camera van and slamming on my brakes.

Incidently, read in my local paper, that the mobile speed van located near Shefford has caught many speeding motorists in the past few weeks, including a motorbike clocked at 158mph!!!!! - how true that is, i don't know?

But motorbikes don't have number plates on the front, so they have a 50% chance of getting away with it Nick. The laser must also be pointed pretty acurately to catch a bike at that speed.

I don't think it's unusal to see bikes doing 130+ these days, especially on the week ends. The problem is that a biker died in MK in Feb, when he hit a Volvo at 108, that was crossing the dual carridgway in front of him. The bike went straight into the driver from the passenger side and flipped the car over. Just shows you that the biker may have been trying to speed safely but '**** happens'.....

I went out for a spin tonight but came home dissapointed. The car was quick enough but I was too worried about hidden cameras, plus there was just too much traffic around.
