Question

I'm trying to make sense of the Seat Denmark site, but can't make much of it, the 1.9 Tdi 130 appears to be over £20k which seems a bit ridicululous as I was told they were one of the cheapest places for Seats. Any one able to shed some light on this / advise somewhere that will be able to quote me for a UK Spec car?

Thanks

Robertio, I lived there for 5 years so I can read the lingo OK .... at a guess I think the Seat DK site is quoting you a Danish on-the-road price (i.e. with all Danish taxes paid).

Cars are dead cheap to import from Denmark because their pre-tax prices are just about the lowest in Europe ... until recently all private cars bought by Danes were subject to a mandatory 180% (yes, one hundred and eighty) purchase tax!

If you contact Which? I think they have lists of dealers in various European countries that will export cars, that's probably your best way to go rather than through the "official" manufacturer website.

www.autocar.dk

Danish friend of mine has been looking into this, as have I. Unfortunately they stopped doing Subarus!

Normally he's very helpful, I'm not sure he will be after Saturday's scoreline though

I can read and write fluent Danish, lived in Copenhagen in 98. Brickboy's right, Danes are taxed to hell and back with their cars which is why so many POS are on the roads

Steve.

Thanks all

I have now e-mailed Autocar thanks Brendan, so I'll see if they get back to me.

I'll try to get some info from Which, see if they can recommend anywhere, if not I'll be back

Cheers

I'm back

Could someone see if they can find an e-mail address for the Seat side of things on:

http://www.skanco-biler-aarhus.dk/

The only ones I could find seemed to be for VW.

And, on this one:
http://www.tilst-auto.dk/

It would be appreciated

Alternatively if either of you who can communicate in Danish could check with them if they are happy to supply RHD models for export it wuld be ideal.
Normally I'd just send a fax off to them, but I'm not allowed to use the works fax machine and I don't have a phone line in the house

Cheers
