Default companies that cant be arsed to get back to you

anybody else tearing their hair out with companies that simply cannot be bothered to get back to you?

I have emailed a very well known Subaru specialist who I have used before to quote on some work, 2 emails and 1 phone call and still nobody can be bothered to get back to me,ok granted the work is probably less than £600 but its still work.

I have emailed 2 companies who do mobile car aircon re-gassing to quote on my Subaru and my focus ready for the summer.........guess what.......nobody has been bothered to get back to me.

emailed 3 landscapers and used their contact form from their websites to come and quote for my back garden and yet again ive had no reply.

I don't really get time to ring during normal working hours that's why I use contact forms/emails etc.

I find business with fb pages or tuners etc, I find reply promptly to messages, maybe because Facebook is the new trend for most businesses and stuff.
I contact a few job related stuff on fb as I get a prompt response

It is endemic. I'm more scathing towards bigger companies that have full time desk staff whose job is to handle customer calls. As well as the finances to make it happen if they were so inclined. We know full we these staff in many call centres aren't given enough time to properly handle customers, or aren't paid enough to care (or both), meaning stuff like call-backs and emails gets ignored to the end of the shift, or just not even bothered with.

Smaller companies is a little different, usually the person on the phone is having to do other jobs as well (order supplies, handle customers in store etc.). Stuff via email or website request will be at a low priority to be dealt with. Especially one-man bands, where maybe the online stuff is dealt with by the missus after she gets home from work. TBH if they can't handle it, they shouldn't advertise these points of contact.

We're on the other end of this; Secretary who handles all the customers, phones calls, job allotting/scheduling, as well as orders and payment is off sick and it looks like now it's going to be long term (doctors note as vague as ever ). This means that only essential stuff is getting dealt with and stuff like call backs and emails aren't getting dealt with. Nightmare.

It’s a pet hate of mine with small companies/sole traders who you would think would want to be lining up new business and giving a good first impression. I’ve had it with decorators/plasterers/electricians and plumbers and it all boils down to them being trades that are so busy they don’t care about getting back to people. I wanted my house redone throughout so not a small job but had so much trouble actually getting quotes where phone calls weren’t returned it was ridiculous.

Jus to add some other side perspective to this. Since I set up my current website 5 years ago I've seen a constant increase of unstoppable spam bots sending messages and emails through the contact form. It gets so bad that outlook.com puts my own contact form in the spam folder some weeks as it's thinks it's spam.

This has led to genuine enquiries being lost.

Absolutely nothing I've implemented on the contact form has ever been able to stop spam bots from getting though, I may just remove it from the site altogether to be honest and just have the telephone number.

So you may find if there a small company like me then they may not even be getting their own contact forms sometimes.

Yeah, I guess it's that ongoing battle that will never be truly won by any side. IT Security and the fight against bots and such will never end, constantly changing!

Over here they are pretty quick about replying etc. no one wants a bad review given to their boss. Minimum wage or not, bad feedback = losing job = no healthcare cover etc. = possible homelessness.

It's possibly the other way around here, too much contact and outreach by vendors - I have to block so many numbers and emails!

Microsoft are tops at ignoring emails and cutting online 'assistance'. The latest incarnation of PowerPoint won't allow menus without a large and unprofessional virus warning appearing every time you try to change between presentations, this within their own bloody software! I've had to go back to Office 2003, which of course works perfectly on an old laptop. Progress!

Hewlett Packard are equally terrible: Not only does it take an eternity to get through, it's to a foreign call centre with a poor grasp of English working off scripts.

They NEVER call or email back.

Their UK repair centre will send out a laptop thats worse than when was sent in after screwing up the motherboard Config bits that tell Windows which pre-install configuration it is. As a result it loads the wrong drivers, and blue screens as a result. Getting worse every time it tried to update.

Trying to get anyone to understand or recognise this was impossible. And boy did I try....ever tried using a help desk that persistently wants to remote control admin a PC that blue screens every ten minutes? And then refuses to RMA because they think the dropped connection is due to the Internet dropping out!

I used to rate them (as mentioned on here) NEVER AGAIN!

JFYI, Hewlett-Packard doesn't exist as a company anymore which might explain why you can't get through

LoL, I'm showing my age

Ok 1990's Hewlett-Packard = Built like a tank, didn't go wrong therefore didn't need warranty or support.

2010-onwards HP = Flimsy, Flakey crap with terrible warranty support and abysmal customer service. (Both return to base and business on-site).

I can't comment on the HPI support people but I found the HPE support people to be pretty damn good, when I called our support people in Bulgaria about broken, EVA's, 3Pars, hard disks etc. I usually got the replacement part delivered to me the next day.

Been something that's bothered me for a while, or companies that respond to my emails by looking up and calling me.

If I wanted to call I'd have called.

I was willing to spend circular £5k with a tuning company for my Audi, they sent me a quote and gave me an email address for an exhaust company they work with, I agreed to the quote and included the second company so we could work together.

They ignored me, so both companies lost the business.

Crazy.
