Not a flake here on Costa Del Solent the sun is shining and a beautiful day. My mate in Maidstone has over a foot of snow over night and won't be going anywhere as the roads haven't been cleared so just chaos and not worth the risk.

Keeps trying here in Scunny. Woke at 6.30 to a fine powder about 2cm, by 8.30 it's gone, at 9.30 it snowed again for half an hour, big flakes, settled nicely, now gone again.

TBH, we are now on what the PratOffice say is the southern edge of the heavy stuff...although yesterday and Sunday they were saying the whole of the eastern seaboard would get 5-10cm.

Their computers must be malfunctioning again, LOL

Oh, and what's with the media trying to panic everyone? And WHY does the PratOffice always give snow in cm when they want folk to worry? We still use the UK measurement system last time I looked? Inches, feet, yards etc.

Just takes one idiot at the front to mess it up for everyone else. Feel sorry for the guys with all the gear (winter tyres, snow chains etc.) that get held up due to some Jack knifed power-shifter running eco max super hard enduro tyres that has to avoid Mrs Moggins panicking in her Dacia (used to have a Micra) that brake tests for no reason.

Even where it has fell deep, It's not that bad, we had worse before Christmas. Which luckily fell over the night and weekend meaning all the idiots were stranded on their drives leaving the roads reflectively clear for everyone else to crack on.

And of all these stranded vehicles blocking the way I bet they are running Chinese/Indionesian rubbish designed for max mileage rather than cold grip...especially HGVs. And does anyone have a spade in the back? Let alone snow socks or chains?

It's not like we weren't warned: I've had a shovel and rope along with my snow wellies and thermal camping coat in the boot of my Golf (AWD) since Christmas!

About 6inch overnight on costa del Canvey with freezing temps all day which means it's all sticking around.

Watching all the dick head rear wheel German cars this morning was hilarious.
