iOS 11 . . . ! ! !
Has anyone else noticed how apps have become noticeably 'laggy' since the so-called 'update'?
You end up typing too fast etc for the apps to 'keep up'...and it often causes them to lag and then hang or crash.
****ing annoying/frustrating.

Actually, its made a difference as I type! The lag etc appears to have gone!
Many thanks mate, I'm a happy bunny again.
Out of interest, was that option OFF by default before the update, then? If so, that would explain it lol

hi mate glad it helped, they introduced that feature a couple of IOSs ago, and i never thought it a good idea, battery / data hog etc, i previously had most of the individual apps set to off, and either through app updates or the ios11 update all sorts of buggers were on again....
incidentally i dont recall if i was giddy and installed Google's G-board third party keyboard when i updated or if it came with the update, but on my 6+ its been pissing me right off laggy thing that it is, so i just uninstalled it from Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > EDIT

Don't just turn off Background App refresh, take your time to understand which apps would benefit from it and which are taking the ****. An email program you'd want to run in the background, Dominos pizza not so much.
If you're really trying to stretch the battery then flick it into low power mode, you can do that from the dashboard.

Yeah, I've added low power mode to the swipe-up control centre, for easy access.
Talking of swipe... I've been using the 79p Swype keyboard since I've had my 5s. Love it.

Yeh it does crash every now and again... But is worth putting up with for the ease/quickness to type.
Although, since I've now turned off many unneeded apps' refresh (cheers Jack), Swype has not been lagging and crashing. It's back to working really smoothly again.

Pity they didn't move the address/search bar to the bottom above the navigation icons, save stretching to the top or double tapping home when using it single handed.
