The new years honours list, someone has a sense of humour.
So a Somalian runner that lives in the USA gets a knighthood, also knighted is a Scottish bloke that hits tennis ***** with a racket.
The prestige of having a knighthood or an MBE deffo went a long time ago, you'd have thought that Elton John would have been made a Dame by now.

I like the ones who reject the honours. Not because I'm anti-establishment, but I understand where they're coming from.
I have no problem with Mo and Murray for being honoured, but I think this 'honour' business requires some serious reform.
What would be your criteria for the honours, The Joshua Tree?

Surely there are ppl who put a lot of time and effort into something, charitable... (that haven't got more money than they need)... should get more recognition?
Same old same old. What about last year.....Samantha Cameron's stylist for gods sake! There should be criteria for 'not' getting an honour I.e a list of things, and if you tick the box for one or more of those criteria, you don't get an honour.....

There are so many people out there who do countless, untold wonderfullness for their communities on a daily basis and go totally unnoticed.

I am no fan of the honours system
But these "honours" that make the headlines represent 1 or 2 % of the total amount
Some do go to that dinner lady in the West Midlands etc
