Default Help me find a part please

When I try to close my vents they don't close and I've found out why. Thing is I have no idea what the part would be called to replace it?

There's no way on God's earth you're ever going to find that part for sale separately, even if you could find out what it's called. Down to the breakers to buy an entire used vent assembly, or make your own replacement arm thing by riveting the little round plastic ***** to a suitably sized and shaped piece of light metal.

£35; The going rate for an interior trim part IMHO. I've replaced simple parts costing three times more!

Splint it with a bit of plastic, rough the surfaces with flatting paper for a good key and use a industrial strength epoxy.

Araldite will do it, but the 5 min sets s bit too quick, and the slow expoxy takes too long and it's a bit runny so it slumps and thins in the areas you want strength.

I've got some 7min expoxy at work in a syringe at work; it's semi-flexible, sets quick but not too quick (full strength in 24hrs), and bloody strong. It's made by Kent, called quick epoxy IIRC.

Loctite will do a similar epoxy, and will be better than the araldite you get from DIY shops.

When I replaced the little bulb behind the dash for the air con button in my Subaru (which involves removing the entire front dash), I snapped a little but important clip that holds the air con button in place. I researched for ages but in the end I had to buy a complete trim piece which cost £30. When refitting I snapped it again! Had to buy another for £35 this time. So £65 for essentially a tiny clip thing...

Drill straight through both parts and use a 10BA countersunk brass screw and nut.

Cant you get some flat plate cut & shape

Then get some ball head fixings bolt em through

Chances are it's not normal plastic but glass filled nylon or 30% PE

Just need to work out how to turn the airbag light out now ..

The dash I replaced had the "airbag passenger warning light" on it, disconnected and it now reports a fault that my vag com and OBD can't see.
