Default Dog poo

I thought it was time to raise the tone a bit on here (all this "Brexit" is so last week...), so any thoughts on the following idea please?

A mate, who had just trodden in some poo, suggested to me the other day that all dogs should be on a DNA database so errant owners allowing them to foul in any public spaces without clearing it up could be caught and prosecuted.

I believe a local council (Basingstoke, or Barking (ho ho) possibly?) is already in the process of trying this out.

He's all ready to raise one of those Government Petitions to try to get it debated in Parliament (as they have so much free time at the moment...) and I said I'd see what the ScoobyNet opinion was.

Any owner that allows their dog to foul public areas should be immediately shot dead, followed by their manky dog. It would only require a few such punishment deaths and that would be the end of it, no more dog mess. Could be a bit controversial though.

That's why I voted Leave....

Sorry.

Seriously though, I've never been. What's the problem there?

I think my mate's initial reaction was more bullet than ballot too, Paben!

No more controversial than applying the same measures to control cats that are left out to roam at will and crap anywhere but in their own garden.

Very rarely see any in Germany, but UK is nearly as clean as here! Other countries are much worse!

My solution would be to ban dogs! Pointless animals anyway!

Agreed but not so easy to ID the cat owners, probably have to shoot a few of them and hope to get the right one. Of course this form of retribution might be terminated suddenly by Police armed response units who would be out to spoil the fun!

I reckon you're right, and probably owning a dog in 50 years time will be seen as daft as owning a house bear, probably even banned. Cats, of course, will have a fine old time of it by then.

I can never understand people who go to the trouble of bagging it, only to then litter the countryside (and elsewhere) with the bags.

This thread is dog poo

What about cats and them crapping in my garden when I don't even own a cat , and then they decide to walk across my car roof with ****ty feet or the screaming though the night if they manage to find a member of the opposite sex ,, at least a dog can be trained out of these things or cleaned up after ,, cats are just vermin imo

Unreal!
We have all kinds of utterly irritating sh!te continually posted on SN from the likes of aRSe_Matt and nothing done.
Tubbs makes one tongue-in-cheek comment about cat deterrent and it's magically vaped.
Consistency isn't what it used to be.

Posting ways on how to kill an animal/pet(tongue in cheek or not) is a always going to be removed.
Higher MPG by fitting ARB's might be controversial but can't cause harm or death.

It wasn't only Tommy's comment. You clearly missed the main event overnight, the Devon punch up invitation, complete with one of the entrants' full address (but no mention of cream teas afterwards, sadly)!

So, should my pal start his dog DNA database petition?

What if someone has a grudge, follows you to the poo bin, burgled your dogs poo, then dumps it on the street?

Good point that.

I quite like the idea of a dog poo burglar though. Would they be charged with foul play?

Not sure who would pay for the DNA register

It would mean that ever dog will have to be registered and DNA'd and nay change of keeper and addresses will have to be updated.

I would suspect that the only people that would ensure they follow this are the responsible owners. The irresponsible ones will ensure that any 'foul play' will lead to a dead end.

Its also quite difficult to get DNA from feces
